Maya Exploration Center: Education Through Exploration
Build Your Own
Maya Exploration Center's mission is research and education. While we fulfill this mission through our research and education programs, we feel that it is important to extend the same level of care and attention to our tour guest. We are dedicated to sharing this wonderful, fascinating culture with as many people as we can. If there is an itinerary that will help our guests to see just the parts of the Mundo Maya they want to, we will make every effort to create it.

Most of the tours that Maya Exploration Center creates for our guests are, to one extent or another, customized. We enjoy working with people to make sure that they get exactly what they want out of their Mesoamerican adventure. Whether it is as simple as adding a site to one of the Chiapas Packages, or as complex as building an itinerary from the ground up, we look forward to working with you.

Do you have specific ruins or modern Maya communities you'd like to visit? Or perhaps you'd like to see some of the ruins still hidden deep in the jungle, barely known even to archaeologists? MEC staff can arrange tours to almost any place you've heard of, and many you haven't... Thematic programs such as archaeoastronomy, sacred geometry, art, religion or hieroglyphic writing, etc. are also available. Contact us today to arrange your own personalized expedition.

Proceeds from MEC Tours are the center's primary source of research funding. As such, a portion of the tour costs are tax deductible. MEC will provide participants with receipts and proper documentation regarding the center's 501(c)(3) non-profit status for your records.
