A week of adventure, learning, and fun organized in honor of Mary's 40th Birthday!

Join us this week as we celebrate the life and times of Mary Hofstedt. The week will include tours of the Maya ruins of Palenque, Bonampak, and Plan de Ayutla led by Dr. Ed Barnhart, jungle walks, rubber tree plantations, and visits to waterfalls. The week's main event will be an all day party in honor of Mary full of live music, barbeque, tasty beverages, and a fire dancing show.

June 13, Saturday: Arrivals Fly into Villahermosa, Mexico, where Maya Exploration Center staff will meet you at the airport. Cab into town and check into the Hotel Cencali where you will meet the other guests for a late dinner.

June 14, Sunday: La Venta Park 8-9am: Breakfast at hotel 9-12pm: Tour of La Venta Park 12-2pm: Lunch and check out 2-4pm: Transport to Palenque 4pm: Check in at El Panchan

June 15, Monday: Palenque 7-8am: Breakfast at Don Mucho 8-1pm: Tour of Palenque Afternoon: Free time in the ruins

June 16, Tuesday: Jungle Walk 7-8am: Breakfast at Don Mucho 8-12pm: Ethnobotany jungle walk 12-2pm: Lunch at Mayabell 2-4pm: Palenque's Onsite Museum

June 17, Wednesday: Misol Ha and Rubber Trees 8-9am: Breakfast at Don Muchos 9-12pm: Tour of the rubber tree plantation 12-2pm: Lunch break 2-5pm: Misol Ha Waterfalls

June 18, Thursday: Bonampak 8-10am: Transport to the east 10-12pm: Tour of Plan de Ayulta 12-2pm: Picnic at Golondrinas Waterfalls 2-4pm: Tour of Bonampak 4-6pm: Return to Palenque

June 19, Friday: Birthday Party 8-12pm Free time (optional Palenque tour) 2-7pm Barbeque and party at Panchan 7-9pm Live Music and Fire Dancing 9-?pm Late night partying

June 20, Saturday: Free Day 8-12pm Free time 2-5pm Free time 7-9pm Final dinner at Don Muchos

June 21, Sunday: Departure Transports beginning at 4am back to Vilahermosa and flights out to the USA

Villahermosa: Hotel Cencali. The rooms have AC, telephones, cable TV, and private baths.

Palenque: El Panchan, just outside of the Palenque ruins. El Panchan has two on-site restaurants, laundry service and an internet cafe. The cabanas have double bed, fans, private bathrooms and hot water.
