Ancient Zapotec Culture and Cuisine - Oaxaca, Mexico
A Custom Tour for Kakawa Chocolates led by Christopher Powell, Carol Karasik, and Mark Sciscenti
This one week tour with eminent Mesoamerican scholars will cover over 2500 years of history in the Oaxaca Valley, from the very origins of civilization in Mexico, through the Spanish Conquest, and up into the lasting traditions of modern day Zapotecs. Each day will feature something new - museums, ancient ruins, indigenous markets, cooking classes, natural wonders, and visits to local villages. Evening lectures will further explain the places we visit and compliment the day tours.
